Mission
Mission runs along the east bank of the Elbow River south of downtown, structured around the 4th Street commercial spine. The community is one of Calgary's oldest — Holy Cross Hospital, the namesake mission, dates to 1894 — and the streetscape preserves a layer of red-brick row houses and stone churches that survived the 20th-century rebuild cycle.
Housing splits roughly evenly between condo (in the river-fronting mid-rises and a growing band of new infill) and small-lot single-family. Inventory is tight; pricing has compounded steadily since 2015 with limited downside volatility.
The Elbow River pathway runs the full western edge with kayak access at the Elbow Park bridge. Lindsay Park (around the MNP Centre) is a ten-minute walk south.
MNP Community & Sports Centre is the dominant amenity — Olympic-sized pools, multiple fitness facilities, racquet courts. Western Canada High catchment.
4th Street SW between 17 and 26 Avenue is the densest restaurant strip in Calgary by some measures. Notable: Ten Foot Henry, Vendome, Pulcinella, Calcutta Cricket Club, Vine Arts.
