    THE STORY

Mount Pleasant is an established inner-city community in Calgary's northwest, laid out along Centre Street North and Edmonton Trail. Its boundaries run from Confederation Park and roughly 32 Avenue NW at the north down to 16 Avenue NW (the Trans-Canada Highway) at the south, with 10 Street NW forming the western edge and the corridor near 2-4 Street NW to the east. Development began around 1912, making it one of the city's older neighbourhoods, and its tree-lined streets and mature lots still read as pre-war Calgary.

The community matured alongside two landmarks: North Hill Centre, which opened in 1958, and Confederation Park, created in 1967 on the former North Hill Coulee and now the neighbourhood's northern anchor. That combination of a walkable Centre Street main street, a major urban park, and a five-minute reach to SAIT and downtown keeps Mount Pleasant among the most sought-after addresses in Calgary's core.

In Calgary's real-estate market, Mount Pleasant sits firmly in inner-city territory, where scarcity of land and proximity to downtown support values well above the city average. The current average sale price of roughly $737,642 reflects a mix of original character homes and high-end infill on premium lots.

    OUTSIDE

Confederation Park defines the community's northern edge, a 160-acre green space with walking and cycling pathways, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, the Confederation Park golf course, and its well-known winter Christmas lights display. Closer to home, Canmore Park adds playgrounds, sports fields, and a spray park, while the Nose Creek and Bow River pathway networks connect riders and runners across the northwest.

    AMENITIES

The Mount Pleasant Community Association clusters the community hall, the Mount Pleasant Sportsplex arena, and the outdoor swimming pool around a central playground, offering hockey, skating, and summer swim programs. Commuting is straightforward: Centre Street, Edmonton Trail, and 4 Street NW feed directly downtown, 16 Avenue NW (the Trans-Canada) runs east-west, and dozens of Calgary Transit stops sit within a short walk across the community.

    SHOP & DINE

Everyday shopping centres on North Hill Centre at 16 Avenue and Centre Street, with grocery, pharmacy, and big-box retail minutes away. Centre Street North itself is one of Calgary's strongest dining strips, known for its Vietnamese pho houses, Asian restaurants, and neighbourhood pubs, while nearby Kensington adds independent boutiques, cafes, and cocktail bars a few minutes to the south.
