    THE STORY

Bel-Aire is Calgary's smallest luxury enclave, a city-centre pocket of roughly 160 homes set on the eastern shore of the Glenmore Reservoir. The community is framed by Glenmore Trail SW to the north, the reservoir to the south and west, 14 Street SW to the east, and Bel-Aire Place SW along its western edge, with the Elbow River and the private Calgary Golf & Country Club close at hand.

Annexed to Calgary in 1954 and built out through the 1960s on former farmland, Bel-Aire was planned from the start as an estate district, and it has stayed that way. There are no condominiums, no rental stock, and very little turnover, which is part of why it consistently ranks among the wealthiest addresses in southwest Calgary.

For buyers, Bel-Aire sits at the top of the city-centre market. With an average sale price near $5,225,000, it competes with neighbouring Mayfair, Britannia, and Elbow Park as one of the most exclusive places to own a detached home inside the city.

    OUTSIDE

The Glenmore Reservoir defines outdoor life in Bel-Aire, with the surrounding pathway network linking to North Glenmore Park, the Elbow River, and the Weaselhead Flats natural area for walking, cycling, and paddling. The Calgary Canoe Club and Glenmore Sailing Club sit on the water nearby, and the private Calgary Golf & Country Club borders the community. Few inner-city neighbourhoods put this much reservoir shoreline and green space at the door.

    AMENITIES

Bel-Aire is served by the Mayfair Bel-Aire Community Association, which anchors the small district's local events and shared interests. Commuting is straightforward: Elbow Drive and 14 Street SW feed north to the core, while Glenmore Trail runs east to Macleod Trail and Deerfoot Trail for cross-city access. Downtown is a ten-to-fifteen-minute drive, and the Chinook LRT station on the Red Line is a short hop east for transit into the centre.

    SHOP & DINE

Everyday shopping and dining sit just east of the community. Chinook Centre, one of Calgary's largest malls, is minutes away via Glenmore Trail, with anchor retail, cinemas, and a full range of restaurants. Closer to home, Britannia Plaza on Elbow Drive offers upscale shops, Sunterra Market, and local favourites such as Village Ice Cream and Monogram Coffee, while the Elbow Drive and Marda Loop corridors add further cafes, bistros, and boutiques.
