Lakeview
Lakeview is an established west-side Calgary community on the south shore of the Glenmore Reservoir, bordered by Glenmore Trail to the north, Crowchild Trail to the east, 37th Street SW to the west, and the Tsuut'ina Nation to the southwest. Founded in 1962 on land Calgary annexed in 1956, it took its name from the reservoir views its elevation affords, and many of its first houses were built by Engineered Homes Ltd.
More than sixty years on, Lakeview keeps the quiet, tree-lined feel of a planned mid-century neighbourhood while a steady wave of renovations and infills has reshaped its housing stock. The enclave of Lakeview Village, south of 66th Avenue, holds the community's larger and higher-end homes.
