Aspen Woods
Aspen Woods sits at Calgary's western edge, where 17th Avenue rises into the foothills. The community was substantially built out between 2002 and 2018, which means the housing stock is uniformly newer than in the inner-city luxury communities — most homes are between 5 and 20 years old.
The defining feature is the topography. The west-facing lots on the Aspen Summit ridge see the Rockies on a clear day; the east-facing lots see the city. Three private schools — Webber Academy, Calgary Academy, and Rundle College — all sit within the Aspen catchment, which is the single biggest driver of family demand.
Aspen Estates Park and the 69th Street pathway connect through to West District. Edworthy Park and the Bow River pathway are a four-minute drive north.
Webber Academy (K-12), Calgary Academy, Rundle College, Ambrose University. Calgary French & International School is a 12-minute drive south.
Aspen Landing — Blanco Cantina, Briggs Kitchen, Pie Junkie, Sunterra Market. West District (under construction) will add a second high-street precinct directly north.
