Scarboro
Scarboro is a small (~250 homes) heritage community sitting on the bluff above 17th Avenue's western end. Plotted in 1910 as a CPR garden suburb, the community preserves the original curving streets and many original Edwardian and Craftsman homes.
The neighbourhood is one of Calgary's most under-the-radar prestige addresses — limited public profile, almost no commercial frontage, and inventory in the single digits per year. Pricing is comparable to Upper Mount Royal on a like-for-like basis.
Scarboro is bounded by the 17 Avenue commercial strip to the south but the residential streets are insulated. Shaganappi Golf Course is a five-minute drive north.
Sunalta School covers K-6. Western Canada catchment for high school.
17th Avenue's western strip is at the community's southern edge. The Calgary Tennis Club sits on the eastern boundary.
