Pine Creek
Pine Creek is one of Calgary's newest communities, a master-planned neighbourhood on the city's southwest foothills edge developed by Anthem United. It sits west of Macleod Trail and south of 210 Avenue SW, with Stoney Trail (Calgary's ring road) and Highway 22X framing the southern approach and linking residents to Shawnessy, Silverado, and Yorkville next door.
Built across roughly 120 acres of rolling terrain, protected wetlands, and creek corridor, Pine Creek was planned around greenspace rather than retrofitted with it, and will hold more than 900 homes at build-out. It is a genuinely new community: construction has moved into its final phases, so buyers are choosing among recent builds and a handful of remaining new-construction opportunities.
In Calgary's market, Pine Creek reads as move-up family territory on the southern edge of the city, where newer product, foothills views, and quick ring-road access trade at prices below the inner-city established communities.
Outdoor life centres on the Pine Creek corridor itself — a network of walking and cycling pathways threading past three parks, a large community pond, and protected wetland reserve. Fish Creek Provincial Park, one of North America's largest urban parks, sits minutes north for trails, forest, and the Bow River, while Highway 22X opens a fast route west to Bragg Creek, Kananaskis, and the Rocky Mountain foothills for weekend escapes.
Commuting is one of Pine Creek's strongest cards: Stoney Trail (the ring road) and Macleod Trail are minutes away, with Highway 22X connecting east-west across the south end. The Somerset–Bridlewood CTrain station, the south terminus of the Red Line, gives a direct rail link downtown, and Shawnessy's transit hub adds bus service. Recreation and everyday services are anchored by nearby Shawnessy and Silverado, with a future school site and amenity space planned within the community.
Shopping and dining sit just north and east of the community. Shawnessy Towne Centre delivers big-box retail, grocery, a movie theatre, restaurants, and services along Macleod Trail, while Silverado Marketplace and the newer Creekstone shopping district add grocery, cafes, fitness, and everyday errands within a short drive. Buffalo Run and Township on the west side round out the options for pharmacies, dining, and weekend essentials close to home.
